Brown-Forman Human Resources Generalist - Jack Daniel Cooperage/South Mills in Trinity, Alabama
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as HR partner to leaders, in partnership with the HR leader, supporting the Jack Daniel Cooperage, Stevenson and Clifton Mill Operations. This role is responsible for day to day HR management processes, employee relations, Workers Compensation administration and reporting, Employee Leave administration, HR Systems administration and various other activities to build management strength and leadership capability. Fosters a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Promotes a shared understanding of organization values, operating principles, and cultural change imperatives and works to align HR policies and processes to support the achievement of business goals.
HR POLICY: Ensures uniform and equitable application of organizational policies and procedures including investigation and resolution of employee issues, if applicable.
WORKERS COMPENSATION AND DISABILITY MANAGEMENT: Ensure proper OSHA records are maintained. Assist employees in workers compensation and disability management process and questions. Partner with third party administrators to administer appropriate and timely support to employees.
HUMAN RESOURCE INFORMATION SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION: Ensure integrity of HR data and documentation.
TALENT ACQUISITION: Actively participate in the selection and placement of highly capable talent, i.e., getting the right people in the right jobs, based on a full understanding of the business, its culture and key goals. Manages the recruitment with the Global Talent Acquisition partner to ensure the process runs smoothly to build the best, diverse workforce. Lead engaging and thorough on-boarding of talent.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Engage regularly with the teams supporting to create a positive and productive employee relations environment while providing feedback for pro-active intervention and resolution of people-related concerns. Handle employee investigations as required.
COACH & FACILITATE: Provide support on day to day HR management processes, facilitating the execution of people and business strategies through people and organizational development. Ability to develop creative solutions based on evaluation of needs and clear deliverables and timelines. Partner with leaders and employees to support people development strategies/plans, coach employees, performance management, training, etc.
CHANGE & DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT: Lead by example in the diversity and inclusion strategy for the company, actively engaging in this work and creating an environment of inclusive leadership.
HR PROJECTS: Leads and manages HR projects as assigned.
QUALITY: Execution of plant policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Company/Corporate directed EH&S, Quality, and GMP requirements. Must be aware of, willing to conform to, and capable of conforming to the Brown-Forman GMP requirements.
Required Experience & Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience serving in an HR generalist role
• Experience with HR Information Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
• Travel as needed to support operation but not to exceed 25%
Preferred Experience & Education:
Certifications: PHR, SPHR, or other HR credentials
• PHR, SPHR or other related HR credentials
• Union and Non-Union experience
• HR experience in a manufacturing environment
