Brown-Forman Lead Bottling Operator in Versailles, Kentucky
In addition to performing the core job functions of the Bottling Operator, the Lead will assist the production manager and plant production leaders by encouraging safety/environmental, morale, quality, productivity, delivery and cost efficiency. The Lead Operator will demonstrate the Brown-Forman values and behaviors in the course of performing their job tasks, while helping build a world-class team by providing training, leadership, and coaching to team members on how to properly and safely perform work duties. This position may rotate shifts and/or work overtime as required.
Promote accident prevention by modeling adherence to all safety guidelines and standards
Support deployment of all required training to team members, including new hire safety orientation
Serve as site emergency response team member, maintaining current First Aid & CPR certification
Identify, communicate, and help eliminate potential hazards, partnering with the Plant Production Leader(s), Production Manager, and EHS team
Maintain consistent communication with Health & Safety Manager and EHS team
Comply with all EHS procedures as described by the company and OSHA
Adhere to all personal protective equipment guidelines, including wearing steel toed/slip resistant safety shoes, hair net or ball cap, beard net, hearing protection, safety glasses, and gloves, as required
Adhere to safe barrel handling guidelines
Actively promote a team environment, providing support to other areas of the operation as needed, and helping lead change in a positive and professional manner

Take leadership role in monthly and annual area housekeeping and sanitation audits in partnership with quality control and bottling team members, facilitating follow-up activities as required
Investigate bottling line equipment and system failures, monitoring and recording downtime and partnering with plant production leader(s)/production manager to conduct root cause analysis and develop and implement continuous improvement solutions
Create and distribute daily shift rotation sheets and key performance indicator (KPI) reports
Provide troubleshooting support and corrective action guidance to operators and technicians, partnering with maintenance team when appropriate
Provide thought leadership on Standard Operating Procedure design and modification to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
Train operators and technicians on Standard Operating Procedures
Collaborate with quality, maintenance and logistics to ensure overall effectiveness of operation, serving as a communication liaison among all departments.
Become lead trainer for new employees and backup operator for all positions, including labeler, uncaser, and forklift, etc. as needed for absentee coverage
Exhibit an unrelenting focus on results and sense of urgency
Demonstrate good judgment and ability to make quick decisions, sometimes “on the fly”
- Collaborate with support staff, including processing, quality, and logistics to manage bottling operations against the schedule, ensuring on-time delivery and product accuracy.
Support team in operational problem resolutions, continuous improvement, and standardizing production processes.
Engage in continuous improvement training and integration into Woodford Reserve organization and support ongoing efforts to improve OEE. Explore innovation in terms of technology, people, processes, and systems.
Taking an active role on downtime tracking and reporting for bottling operations
Utilize resources effectively.
Develop/plan short and long range objectives in support of company.
Minimum 1 year of Brown-Forman manufacturing/production experience and/or 2+ years of manufacturing/production leadership experience at an equivalent production facility
Ability to work across multiple shifts
Trained and certified in forklift and Lock-out Tag-out
Proficient technology skills
Supervisory or leadership experience
A ssociate’s degree
