Brown-Forman Operations Supervisor, Regauge and Processing- 2nd Shift (PPL) in Versailles, Kentucky
Meaningful Work From Day One:
This role is 2nd shift (2PM-10:30 PM).
Responsible for safety, morale, quality, productivity, delivery and cost in Woodford Reserve Regauge and Processing operations.
Serve as front line leader and strategic contributor to organizational leadership team. Schedule daily and weekly production activities and assign duties and responsibilities for approximately 20 operators.
Lead and coach employees in the proper performance of duties, provide training and address performance issues. Review and submit payroll on a weekly basis. Approve vacation and personal day requests.
Administer attendance-related discipline as needed. Control labor costs and expenditures and supervise operations within department productivity targets and budget.
Supervise operations to achieve established standards for sanitation, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide floor leadership for daily activities, creating and managing daily schedule, including batch requirements and barrel picks in accordance with TTB requirements and in partnership with Processing Operations Specialist.
Partner with R&D in support of new product development.
Partner with warehouse PPLs to efficiently manage resources, including people and equipment, and schedule for overall Regauge, Processing and Warehouse operation.
Effectively partner with BFDO warehousing team to manage aged barrel inventory.
Support By the Barrel program, managing barrel inventory, ensuring accurate sampling and supporting dumping and processing of liquid for personal selection team.
Monitor and record equipment downtime.
Investigate equipment and system failures and provide troubleshooting guidance to operators on all bottling and processing equipment.
Support maintenance and engineering organizations by utilizing work order processes, preventive maintenance program, and equipment downtime tracking and capital work development.
Develop, implement and evaluate job specific skills training for all team members.
Required Experience & Education:
Education:
- College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent)
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2-5 years manufacturing leadership experience, or associate’s degree with 5-7 years related experience, or, in lieu of degree, at least 8 years manufacturing leadership experience.
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing groups and major projects or initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage and complete assigned workload within established deadlines and to constantly seek new improvement ideas.
Ability to work additional hours and/or shifts to meet departmental goals (including weekends as needed).
Ability to work under tight time constraints to meet departmental goals.
Ability to implement employee engagement processes and contribute to the growth of team-based leadership.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software with general computer skills.
Preferred Experience & Education:
Experience in distilled spirits industry and/or warehousing and processing environments
Experience with continuous improvement projects
