Brown-Forman Operations Supervisor, Warehouse- 2nd Shift (PPL) in Versailles, Kentucky

Meaningful Work From Day One:

This role is 2nd shift (2PM-10:30 PM).

Serve as the site leader for the remote Tract 3 location on 2nd Shift. Coordinate and supervise the team of 8 (2 truck drivers and 6 warehouse operators) to accomplish the activities of the Warehousing Department, consisting of the entry of over 110K+ barrels annually, in the most cost-efficient manner within the operating guidelines as defined by governmental agencies and company policy. Maintain a barrel inventory in excess of 550,000 stored in approximately nine maturation warehouses across three tracts of land. Support the continued growth of the Warehousing department as it grows to reach 240K+ barrels entered annually and continued asset additions (i.e warehouse construction). Coordinate the receipt and movement of new and aged barrels from Brown-Forman Distillery and Woodford Reserve Distillery. Manage the process to store and enter the barrels into SAP.

Perform duties to ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations and all corporate and company policies. Work with Controller, Accountant, and Processing and TTB Specialist to help maintain quality audits on all barrels in storage and provide related reports as required. Coordinate the activities of contractors and Maintenance personnel in conjunction with production requirements to maintain warehouses and equipment.

What You Can Expect:

  • Collaborate with Brown-Forman Distillery Warehouse PPL to ensure the adequate delivery and return of all WRD trailers for both new make and aged loads of barrels.

  • Oversee all truck and trailer movements as well as monitoring all contractor activities.

  • Manage partnerships with 3rd Party transportation companies to ensure on-time delivery of shipments.

  • Manage the schedules of all truck drivers to ensure on time internal deliveries across all three tracts of land.

  • Manage fleet maintenance of 3 Tractors, 4 Flatbed, 7 Conestoga Trailers, and 70 racked trailers.

  • Support the expansion of warehousing by partnering with General Construction Contractors and Corporate Engineering.

  • Partner with R&D to support barrel yield studies and projects throughout the year.

  • Partner with the Processing Engineer for Warehousing and Maturation to ensure that the warehouses are operating properly and that heat cycling is accomplished each year.

  • Ensure that team members are driving toward a highly safe & clean work environment as a key priority for the site and support work on the floor as needed

  • Review, edit as necessary and submit time in Workday for the warehouse operators

  • Create and communicate the daily work schedule and expectations for the departments, coordinating with the work team to determine necessary staffing and support needs

  • Update, create and implement standard operating procedures in the warehouse operations to accurately and effectively run operations.

  • Develop, implement and evaluate job specific skills training for each individual employee, coordinate efforts with natural work teams

  • Partner with the HR and finance teams to project required staffing needs, including internal and external requirements, coordination of supplemental staffing services, and related payroll-reporting requirements

  • Support the Maintenance and Engineering Manager by utilizing work order processes, Preventive Maintenance program, and equipment downtime tracking

  • Collaborate with Plant Production Leader - Regauge and Processing on aged barrel liquidation requirements needed to support Regauge and Processing.

  • Accurately manage the SAP transactions for new whiskey storage as well as aged inventory removal from the warehouses including rebarrel movements. Lead annual warehouse inventory audit.

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years operational leadership experience or associate’s degree plus 5 or more years related experience or equivalent work/education experience.

  • Demonstrated technical acumen and experience with Google platform (Docs, Sheets, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated analytical/mathematical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel/external contacts

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete workload within designated time frame.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to assess performance of equipment utilized in production operations

  • Ability to work flexible work schedule and overtime as needed including weekends and holidays
