Brown-Forman Woodford Reserve Lead Logistics Operator - Offshift in Versailles, Kentucky
The Lead Logistics Operator will support activities related to receipt of materials and shipment of customer orders through Woodford Reserve Distillery logistics, leveraging continuous improvement mindset and technical acumen to position the department for continued growth and evolve the manner in which work gets done.
The Lead Logistics Operator will be in good standing in terms of attendance and work performance and will demonstrate the Brown-Forman values and behaviors in the course of performing their job tasks. When the plant is operating on three shifts in the bottling department, this position will be assigned to second shift - 3:00 to 11:30 p.m. When the plant is operating as a two-shift bottling department, this position will work a cross-over shift, tentatively 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Partner with Health & Safety Manager and EHS committee to promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and incorporating proper body mechanics in training procedures.
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve ergonomics.
Participate in monthly area audits.
Support efforts to build an inclusive work environment.

Support daily shipping operations, including but not limited to reviewing open orders, running SAP reports, updating spreadsheets, creating shipment paperwork, supporting WMS integration and utilization, as well as monitoring inventory and accuracy.
Support BTB shipment process, including creation of paperwork, scheduling and staging of orders, and management of Google order sheet. Communicate order status to customers and corporate partners as needed.
Support management of external warehouse partners, gathering and reporting analytics, acting as liaison for communications, etc.
Generate monthly carrier reliability and performance metrics, including updating arrival and departure times in tracking sheet and providing summary of delays throughout the day. Recommend opportunities for improvement.
Support inventory management, including assisting with finished goods inventory counts, including month-end, and reconciliation as needed, and proactively monitoring space against planned loads (e.g. finished goods, materials, etc.) to optimize warehouse footprint.
Participate in shipment discrepancy investigations.
Perform monthly reconciliation, audit and discrepancy investigations of ADV invoices.
Consistently review and recommend process enhancements with the goal of improved efficiency, operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Leverage department activity tracking sheet (Shipping To Do) daily for order lock-outs and early delivery dropping process improvements.
Process receipts, including entering incoming and outgoing raw materials and external warehouse finished goods, and transfers of finished goods and materials.
Post shipments and process receipts using SAP. Distribute and file paperwork within specific time limits set by department.
Create and update SOPs and work instruction documents.
Implement and manage BOL scanning process.
Create and file paperwork related to Navy, AAFES and others as assigned.
Help coordinate and organize JDB/BFL/CQSF builds.
Manage shipment photo process, including Google folder organization and sharing settings and integration into SAP.
Coordinate Ruth Hunt and Bourbon Barrel Foods drum fills, completing associated paperwork.
Create truck and container paperwork for both live and staged loads.
Help prepare cases for air shipment.
Serve as back-up for logistics supervisor as needed for vacation and/or leave coverage.
Perform other duties as required.
Proficient technology skills, including Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google (Sheets, Forms, Mail, etc.) platforms
3 - 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and perform basic mathematical functions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, internal and external
Strong communication skills
Able to manage independently and complete assigned workload within established deadlines in a high-volume consumer goods industry
Able to work overtime and/or flexible work hours as needed to meet departmental demands
Able to push, pull, carry and lift weight of at least 50 lbs and reach forward 20” and lift up to 58’
Adherence to PPE requirements, including wearing steel-toed safety shoes and other protective gear as required
2- or 4-year degree
Team lead or supervisory experience
Experience with computer integrated manufacturing or ERP systems
Knowledge of transportation modes, services, facilities, equipment
Experience in beverage alcohol industry
