Brown-Forman Woodford Reserve Night Shift Distillery Operator in Versailles, Kentucky
Performs and monitors all duties related to milling, yeasting, mashing, fermentation, distillation, and barrel filling to meet company standard as well as government regulations. Monitor boiler operations and responds to alarms while troubleshooting issues with maintenance support. Distillery Operators monitor multiple unit operations at once under minimal supervision. In addition to the core responsibilities of the distillery, the distillery operators will unload grain, load slop trucks, prepare ingredients for R&D as needed, and perform weekly and annual sanitation duties.
Productivity: Performs tasks associated with making whiskey. Collects samples of whiskey, performs distillations, and milling operations. Performs general sanitation duties and other tasks as assigned and job conditions require.
Quality: Monitors the quality of production, end products and operational performance and quality and area sanitation. The role requires a partnership with Quality Control.
Safety: Promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and incorporating proper body mechanics in training procedures. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve ergonomics in the core process, lock out tag out procedures, and all other safety regulations. Partnership with the W.R.E.C team representative and manager to ensure all EHS concerns are reported and addressed.
Monitors water supplies to assure adequate supply for needed production.
Monitors and controls fermentation, yeast, chiller, boiler and fire alarm processes; including all equipment located in still control room.
Monitors mashing system to verify that proper temperatures, ingredients, times, and proper sequences are maintained and ensures the appropriate timing of operations.
Maintains cleanliness of stills each day to ensure low ethyl carbonate in finished product.
Ensures specified proof of whiskey during distillation process; maintaining accurate records of operations is critical.
Performs housekeeping duties to assist in meeting company sanitation guidelines.

Able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach upward/downward, crouch, and ascend/descend stairs/ramps/ ladders, including climbing heights up to 40 or 50 feet, repeatedly over the course of each nightly shift
Able to push and pull over 100 pounds
Able to enter tight and restricted areas
Able to tolerate exposure to the following conditions: cold, heat, coal conveyor & height (40’-50’)
Must wear steel toed safety shoes
Previous distillery experience
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or other science field
