Brown-Forman Senior Accountant in Finland
Brown Forman Finland (BFF) was founded November 2013 when Finlandia Vodka Worldwide sold its assets to newly established Finnish jurisdiction. BFF is part of American Brown-Forman Corporation and the company’s seat is in Finland. BFF owns Finland Vodka tradename and as part of B-F group develops the Finlandia Vodka trademark and oversees operations & projects related to the Finlandia production process. BFF deliveries and controls the order and delivery process. BFF manages plants in Finland, Latvia and Estonia via third party co-packing and logistic partners. In Finland payroll there are teams from region, brand, finance and production; meaning that BFF has sales, marketing, brand and product development and external manufacturing activities in its books. Brown-Forman is responsible for the worldwide sales and marketing of Finlandia Vodka. The financial period of the company runs from May 1 to April 30.
Scope of the Business: • F18 Net Sales EUR 102M; Total Assets EUR 174M; Shipments 3,29M 9L cs • BFF payroll 20 employees: Managing Director / Director of European Vodka Operations 1, Finance & Administration 5; Logistics & Customer Service 7; Production & Supplier coordination 2; Marketing 2; Area Business management (Nordic Duty-Free & Nordics) 3 • Three legal entities: Brow-Forman Finland Ltd, BFBE Branch in Finland (B-F Nordic Duty-Free), BF Latvia.
Responsibilities encompass independently running the daily /monthly/ annually local finance & accounting routines as part of the Finland team. These duties consist of processes related to General ledger, AP & AR Ledgers, payments, IC reconciliations, payroll data coordination, Travel reporting (Concur), insurance & contract records, VAT Reporting, Excise Tax Reporting and CIT Returns and statutory reporting. Participate in IT & other development projects (as needed basis) providing testing and statutory accounting & VAT process knowledge. Actively seeks ways of improving accounting routines to ensure efficient lead times & proper controls are in place & being implemented. Understands BFF being part of American corporation and follows BF policies and practices. Understands Finland and BFF level rules and regulations and guidelines and ensures these are followed and treats other people fairly. Capable of working with people from different cultures and communicates respectful manner internally and outside of the team. Supports feedback culture and has continuous learning mindset. Works consistently with high quality even when under pressure and commits to deadlines and keeps team members in the loop. Understands being part of the team and supports good team spirit being a good team player.

To succeed you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting or relevant working experience
Experience of working within a large corporate environment with very varied stakeholders
Fluent Finnish spoken and written
Good command of spoken and written English.
Experience of working in complex financial environments e.g. different countries and accounting regulations
5 years of independent bookkeeping & accounting role experience
Good understanding of the Entity’s Monetary and Finance & Accounting Processes.
Demonstrated experience with computer applications in a Finance/Administration environment
Proven knowledge of Finnish GAAP rules and regulations as well as VAT legislation
Able to work with minimum supervision and independently prioritizes tasks.
Knowledge of SAP and / or other accounting system.
Understanding of Finnish Accounting Act Consolidation & VAT legislation.
Background in Multinational Corporation.
