Meaningful Work From Day One
The additional location for the role is Slovakia (home based) with some travelling to Prague (no need to relocate).
This position covers senior accounting, tax reporting and invoice processing functions for BFCZ’s sales operations in Slovakia (sales, inventory, marketing) and for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o. (sales people only).
What You Can Expect
All accounting entries for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Process invoices for marketing services (A&P), office costs (SGA) and costs of sales (COS) (inventory, warehousing, strips stamps, tariffs) for Slovakia
Manage month end close accruals for A&P, SGA, COS and Discounts in Slovakia in close cooperation with the Marketing, Sales and Finance team
COS in Slovakia: manage monthly closing for all manual adjustments and price variances.
Discounts in Slovakia: manage monthly closing for Discounts outside of the rebate tool (CCM)
Prepare reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts – inventory, AR, AP, accruals, tax accounts
Manage payments for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Manage payroll data flow and execution for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o. (calculation itself is provided by a third party)
Statutory YEC – statutory financial statements, statistical reporting and related responsibilities for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Prepare VAT returns and related reports (Summary Report, Transactional Report) for both BFCZ in Slovakia and Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Calculate, book and issue invoice for MSA or similar revenue for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o
Prepare excise tax returns and related reports for BFCZ in Slovakia
Calculate CIT accrual on a quarterly basis for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Provide necessary support to external tax advisers for CIT calculation for Brown-Forman Slovakia s.r.o.
Make sure that any changes in tax reporting requirements in Slovakia are implemented, manage IT support for SAP changes as needed
Primary in house expert in CIT , VAT and excise tax matters in Slovakia – provide guidance to the rest of the accounting team and the whole organization
Contract management - review of new contracts in Slovakia for Accounting and Tax compliance
Backup for Senior Accountant Szechia – mainly for A&P invoice processing and monthly closing
Backup for Sales Controller – sales price maintenance on SAP, credit notes, sales invoice distribution
What You Bring to the Table
High School/GED/Secondary School; College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); Finance preferably
At least 8 years’ experience in accounting in FMCG, of which minimum 4 years as a Senior Accountant, Chief Accountant or a similar position
Excel (actively using functions like vlookup, sumif, pivot tables)
SAP – experience with FI module is a must, inventory management is a plus
Very good knowledge of the Slovak VAT, Excise Tax and accounting law and at least basic knowledge of the CIT law
Fluent in Czech and English
