Brown-Forman Electrical Technician in Windsor, California

Lead the maintenance department in areas of electrical specialties. This includes, but is not limited to: Controls, Instrumentation, PLC programming, Troubleshooting, Installation, Upgrades of equipment and Maintaining electrical drawings.

Functions:

  • Perform repairs and diagnostic trouble shooting on, controls, instrumentation, HMI’s and PLC’s.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and facility systems such as pumps, conveying systems, hydraulics, hot water (boilers) and pneumatics.

  • Perform PLC programming upgrades and PLC programming.

  • Maintain and create continuous improvement projects for standalone and networked equipment.

  • Document all projects, repairs, PMs and troubleshooting in CMMS maintenance software.

  • Monitor and ensure machinery is in a safe working order

  • Design and implement safety modification and up-grades

  • Generate, update and maintain LOTO procedures for all production related equipment.

  • Support daily production as required including mechanical support.

  • Schedule and attend meetings with production and quality as necessary

  • Order parts and supplies; generate purchase requests

  • Schedule appointments with outside vendors and technicians for technical support, machinery modifications and/or upgrade

  • Assist with research, development and implementation of package changes.

  • Partner with other members of the maintenance team to complete all repairs and project work on time and on budget.

  • Install and modify new and used equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized spare parts supply area.

  • Perform basic electrician tasks.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Participate in TPM/Continuous Improvement teams to identify and apply innovative solutions to optimize technology, people, processes and systems

  • Capable of evaluating general work environment for opportunities of improvement.

Safety/Environmental:

  • Promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and incorporating proper body mechanics in work activities.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve ergonomics in the core process.

  • Fully support Environmental Health & Safety Committee initiatives.

Must Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent vocational training or related work experience.

  • Understanding of Allen Bradley Hardware and Software

  • Proficient computer skills including working with cloud based platforms.

  • Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and all levels of management in English (both written and verbal).

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and diagrams

  • Extremely well-organized and able to multitask

  • Capable of performing in a loud production environment and work with minimal supervision.

  • Work 5-40 work schedule, Monday – Friday.

  • May require occasional overtime or shifted schedule as needed.

  • Demonstrated experience in both single and three-phase electrical systems

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and diagrams

  • Extremely well-organized and able to multitask

  • Proficient in multiple technology platforms, including Maximo, and Microsoft office products.

Preferred Experience:

  • Consumer packaging experience.

  • Arc flash trained.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

  • Ability to analyze data for improved efficiencies.

  • Experience with CMMS database.
