Scope:

Seeking Harvest Enologist for the 2023 harvest. Duties will include every aspect of producing premium Pinot Noir and Rose of Pinot Noir.

Candidates must have a strong work ethic, and be willing to work long, extended hours including weekends.

Individuals selected for these positions must be reliable and dependable, and possess good communication skills and personal initiative.

Pinot Harvest Enologist plays an integral part in making the highest quality wine possible. Primary duties will include:

Job Requirements:

• Three harvests experience and a BS in winemaking or related field OR three harvests experience in the cellar.

• Work in a safe manner, adhering to winery safety protocols.

• Be timely, motivated, organized, patient, team orientated, and positive attitude.

• Strong communications skills.

• Strong computer skills (Google Drive, Excel, Word, etc.)

• Strong organizational skills to track bins of fruit, corresponding vineyard blocks, assigned wine lot, and barrel lot.

• Ability to perform the physical demands of cellar work.

• Ability to work weekends and overtime.

Harvest Duties (including, but not limited to):

• Receive bins of fruit, and record weights, ensuring that clones are kept separate and tanks are filled to proper volumes.

• Enter weight tags to correspond to the contents of each fermentation tank.

• Write and enter completed work orders in the database (Vintrace).

• Monitor daily Brix and temp readings.

• Take samples to the lab daily and track results.

• Calculate and carry out any additions needed.

• Perform punch-downs and other cellar operations such as filling barrels, tank press-offs, barrel filling, as well as other related cellar activities.

• Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, equipment, presses, and barrels

• Communicate with the cellar team, lead, and winemaking team.

• Other duties as required.

PAY RANGE: $22 - $24 Hourly
